Feeling the Spirit

We went to Kearney for interviews with president and zone conference earlier this week.  It was Elder Vawdrey’s first time as zone leader speaking to the zone.  He did really well.  It was good to see him again. 

Elder Rasmussen has been really sick.  He slept 19 hours and the entire morning was just me slipping into new levels of boredom.  It is incredibly horrible when your companion gets sick because there is absolutely nothing to do! 

We met with J and her boyfriend. We were able to teach her and her boyfriend about the plan of salvation and the great thing was we had the whiteboard so we could draw it all out.  She’s thinking really deeply and it’s good to see her really interested. She got really emotional when we talked about the atonement and she got choked up when she offered the opening prayer which is a wonderful sight. She’s moving forward. We did find out she smokes but with the spirit that she’s feeling that should be no problem to overcome. The other good news is that her boyfriend B opened up. Every lesson we've had with them so far he’s been closed off and really not showing much interest, but today he was open and joking around with us. He was commenting and seemed interested in what was said. He’s starting to feel the spirit.

We got a text from the elders in North Omaha, that Jesus is getting baptized. This is O’s husband.  They got married shortly after I left but he still wasn't committing to baptism. So he has set the date, happy day for the Spanish elders!

Today we did something different with the meal calendar. We wrote down little things in the squares. Like” we are hungry”, “Elder Harker gets hungry on Mondays”, “Elder Vawdrey will be here, feed him”, things like that and we got more lots more people to sign up. It was fun to see their reactions. We all had a good chuckle.
